I grew up inside this. My mother operated an art based preschool fifty-five years ago, and I have spent twelve years running my own studios in Toronto. Process art has been part of my identity since I can remember. I have spent days in rooms that were not working. I have also watched what happens when the room changes. Children settle. They stay with something far longer than anyone expected. They stop asking what to do next. What I could never find was a roadmap. Educators and studio builders were working it out alone, getting some of it right and struggling with the rest, with no way of knowing which was which. So I built one.
